Computer Speaker
The computer speaker is also known as the multimedia speaker. The computer speaker is an external device that makes use of low-power internal amplifier to generate sound coming from the computer. The computer speaker is not known to have high-quality sound, like that of a stereo, but it is known to serve as a means of listening to sound files stored within the computer.

The computer speaker is easy to transfer from one place to another, as it is almost always never bulky. Some brands of the computer speaker have very slim and compact designs. Other manufacturers market a computer speaker with built-in bass for extra listening pleasure. The computer speaker ranges widely in price as well as in quality. Some computers, when purchased, come with a free computer speaker. Others are bought primarily to replace the stereo or other sound system in the customer's bedroom.
Speaker Configurations
Laptops come with an integrated computer speaker. However, this is very small and the sound quality is, thus, mediocre. In order to enhance the quality, one may purchase an external computer speaker, which can be attached to the laptop via USB. This computer speaker may come with built-in bass and a "subwoofer". Such computer speakers are reputed to have great sound quality, enough to replace a stereo. Another type of computer speaker even comes with equalization features and treble controls, leading to a full and loud sound quality.
